The Question, Thursday 10/17/13: Does the CW Forecast Call for Heavy Reign?

The first two newbies in the CW's fall slate were Broadcast Scheduling 101; spin off your strongest existing brand, and go for pure compatibility. Tonight, the CDub rounds it out with an all-out risk, applying their soapy sensibility to the historical fiction genre with the Mary, Queen of Scots drama Reign. I'm kinda hoping it premieres well as I can see what they're going for with the pairing with The Vampire Diaries. However, TVD hasn't done that well, and most of the buzz around this show seems to concern a racy scene that was taken out of the episode. Doesn't seem like the best viewership draw.

Over/Under: 0.75.

CW questions are always the hardest because there's barely any wiggle room around the line.

Over with a 0.8.

Under at 0.7

Over, I think even TVD in the 1.0-1.1 range is good enough for this to start out with a 0.8. Glee not airing tonight won't hurt either.

I just guessed 0.8 on TVBTN and thought that was slightly pessimistic with Glee out of the way, so this is a definite Over. For one week.

I feel as if OVER is a good bet because I don't recall any post-Vampire Diaries show struggling immediately out of the gate. They are all initially sampled (unless my memory is serving me wrong), and then begin to lose a good chunk of audience.

Over. Its competition is a slipping Grey's.

It's too bad the scene where the ***REDACTED*** after seeing ***REDACTED*** was cut down. I might've watched tonight just for the perverse thrill of seeing something that insane.

[clears throat]

I'm thinking along RJ's lines. Over.

My first instinct was to say Under at 0.7, but I guess this will go over that line at least for the premiere. Over.
