The Question, Thursday 10/10/13: Will Once Upon a Time in Wonderland Leave ABC Wondering?

ABC finishes out its very mixed fall slate with tonight's premiere of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which may be the deciding factor in whether we can say ABC had a "good" fall. Can a TV series about Alice in Wonderland premiere well? I think so. Can a Once Upon a Time spin-off premiere well at this point? Maybe, though I'm worried that brand may be seen as a negative by some. This is a total wild card, so I'm resorting to the same low-2's level ABC has usually managed with relatively hyped premieres in this slot. (See also: Charlie's Angels (2.1), Missing (2.1), Last Resort (2.2).)

Over/Under: 2.15.

The original is fading, so I don't have much hope for the spin-off. Under with a 1.9.

If all the other shows can at least do a 2, I'd think this could too. OVER.

OUAT at least did a good job of holding steady this past Sunday so I'm going to say over with a 2.2.

Over. I don't see it doing worse than last resort even in raw numbers

Over, 2.4

OUATIW has some good buzz. I think it'll pull a 2.2 or 2.3. Over.

Under with a 1.9. Mainly saying this because I'm rooting to see the One-derland pun...

I don't think it's been hyped any more or less than Zero Hour. Zero Hour was a hideous failure (and also a bad show). This compels me to go Under.

Nine ABC drama failures in a row?

I'm going to say Over, because it's a premiere and I think that the Once brand, though less potent than last year, is still enough of an initial draw.

Over at 2.3/2.4

So far this season OUAT has been a steady ship and stayed ahead of most of its 2013 numbers. That, the pre-existing brand angle, and the success of Tim Burton's take on the story 3 years ago with the movie could get enough viewers.

Over.

Once in Wonderland would only be the eighth by my calculation, but yeah, since I've hated every single one except Last Resort, for which I must still commit retribution against the puppet masters who ensured the braindead masses would not be awakened by the critically important message contained w/in its narrative.

But also, nine correct answers in a row.
