Rating the Ratings: It took awhile, but True Blood finally took its first noticeable ratings downturn in summer 2013, ending the season with an average a few tenths behind its fellow HBO drama Game of Thrones. It was still one of the summer's biggest adult 18-49 draws and was incredibly consistent across the season, rating somewhere between 2.2 and 2.5 each week. Though the numbers were still great, HBO announced that True Blood would end after its upcoming 2014 season, perhaps looking to get out ahead of the seemingly inevitable continued decline. Grade: C+.
