Bureaucratic Notes

A few notes about the site going forward, just in case you're into that sort of thing:

  • I bought a domain. The site is now officially located at but the way Blogger works, all the old addresses still exist. Since previous internal links on the site still link to working versions of the pages, I won't exactly be in a hurry to get those up to date. The most significant thing about this is that it foreshadows an inevitable change of the blog's name to "Spotted Ratings" due to my ongoing insecurity about the title "Spotted" and its associations with celebrity sightings and Gossip Girl and stuff. That won't officially happen until the next time I redesign the site, and that's not really on the menu at the moment. But honestly, it could happen at any time, so I'm not making any promises.
  • As for the posts I've been calling "Spotted Ratings" for the last couple weeks, I'm scaling those back in a sense. They will be the same content, but I'm not going to post them early in the afternoon based on preliminaries anymore. Part of my insecurity (I'm really airing out my insecurities here!!) about doing the daily ratings thing has been adjustments from preliminaries to finals. My gut told me writing about changes from preliminaries to finals is not a good use of my precious time at this stage of the game. Doing these posts for the last two weeks and having to update the spreadsheet, then re-paste into Blogger, then re-format everything has told me my gut was right. I might sometimes enter prelims into my spreadsheet and make Twitter comments about things I find interesting, but the full tables will wait. Hopefully this will allow more time for me to actually start writing interesting posts again.
  • In case you missed them across the whooping one-week hiatus, the weekly Five-Spots are returning this week. I took a week off because it was a really slow week in scheduling (almost all TV news from two weeks ago was related to pilot casting) and because I had so much else to do on here this week (see above).
