War of 18-49 Update, CSI (2014-15)

Let's take a look at the 2014-15 season (the fifteenth overall) of CSI on CBS.

*- For this winter's War of 18-49 updates, the A18-49+ is based on a projected league average, calculated by applying the league average's current year-to-year trend (thru 3/1/15) to the final 2013-14 average. This should help make these numbers compare more fairly with seasons past.

Rating the Ratings: CSI became the third straight veteran CBS drama to drop almost exactly one third in a move to the Siberia that is Sunday 10/9c. And the year-to-year drop likely would've been worse if not for the order getting reduced. As we see more shows suffer in almost identical fashion from this treatment, I've gotten a little softer grading-wise, but I still don't think this show did enough to have any real beef if it gets the axe. Some will point to its season high 1.6 with a repeat lead-in when it was tried out on Tuesday, but it had absolutely no competition and the "repeat lead-in" was still higher-rated than what it's gotten on Sunday. This would be a sad way for one of the most important dramas in CBS history to go out, but at this point the network has several better options and many, many almost identical options ratings-wise. We shall see. Grade: C-.

Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for CSI.
