Spotted Ratings, Monday 6/2/14

WHAT MATTERS:
  • I didn't remember Memorial Day being particularly brutal for TV ratings in past years, and it actually looks like overall viewing was even lower on June 2 than the previous Monday. But nearly everything that aired last week still had a double-digit bounce-back, so maybe last week was just a huge fluke. That included good news for MasterChef (even if a 1.7 is still fairly underwhelming for this show), 24: Live Another Day (1.8), The Bachelorette (1.7) and especially American Ninja Warrior (1.9 which held after finals, impressively topping every single point from last season).
  • Some shows also joined the mix, including the return of ABC's summer drama Mistresses (1.2), matching its series premiere rating last year. The CW began its summer with Whose Line Is It Anyway? (0.5) and Beauty and the Beast (0.4), which tied its high point from the regular season.
  • Cable (still to come): A&E's Longmire (0.7) was back at two tenths behind last season's premiere.

That 1.1 low has been outdone by repeats on Adult Swim. It should do wel enough. Even if it drops another 22% in the move, it will be the highest original TBS has ever had

Last Comic Standing repeating like a beast. Maybe NBC won't have to repeat America's Got Talent 27 times (See Spotvault for proof) this summer

I think the only issues they could have are Wednesdays and Sundays and honestly having two "issue" days in summer is an amazing place to be. Besides, I still think they should/could repeat the Dick wolf trio. It could help the Chicago shows, especially the younger PD, find some viewers and they will probably have decent for repeat results.

Will probably do good for TBS, averaging low 1s.

I can understand why FOX wants to get rid of Bob's Burgers desperately since it is their lowest rated animation, but american dad had solid retention from family guy and its ratings were decent to be on top 5 of FOX shows (and also it skews young like all animations).

FOX is going to miss it when Mulaney goes one and done.

Since NBC is going to move AGT to wednesdays in july, I'm all in to go Chicago Fire-PD-Night Shift on tuesdays.

Or at least they could repeat those shows (and Blacklsit) on sundays, window is tight since Believe will probably finish on june 22nd and Crisis final two episodes are scheduled for june 29th, there is only july and probably four sundays in august (the fifth is for NFL's Hall of Fame Game), then Sunday Night football starts on september 7th.

Well, Tuesday will still have AGT, it's just moved to 9, and Food Fighters goes at 8. And Night Shift is only 8 episodes long. But I definitely agree in terms of repeats, Sunday is the way to go. PD, Blacklist, and Fire are the way to go, preferably. But they'll probably just have either AGT repeats and/or specials there instead.

I think instead of Food Fighters they should place Chicago PD (R) after America's Got Talent. It skews close enough I think they'd be compatible and a give it some potential new eyeballs not from the SVU crowd

I think it is not only prudent for NBC to repeat Chicago PD with a good lead in this summer, but necessary if they want a sophomore bounce. PD isn't getting a lead in upgrade like Fire did and CBS' Stalker should be stronger competition than CSI. Using Got Talent (or even Ninja Warrior) as a lead in for repeats is there best shot there
