Rating the Ratings: For a few years now, Private Practice has been one of those shows (see also: yesterday) that many people thought stayed after its cushy lead-in for too long. This year, that all changed, as PP headed off to Tuesday late in the season so ABC could put the new Scandal after Grey's Anatomy. The results of that effort? Kind of a mixed bag. It looked practically dead on arrival in its first airing on the night (1.7 demo), then recovered into the low 2's for a couple weeks, then got absolutely slammed with a 1.4 demo against the finale of The Voice. All in all, it added up to a 13-episode renewal back on Tuesday. While it's not designated as the final season, it seems pretty likely since Kate Walsh is reportedly on the way out after those 13. Grade: C+.
