Following big drops last year, The Voice mostly stabilized in its 2024-25 cycles. New drama Brilliant Minds took over the 10/9c hour and had almost the exact same fall average as last year's The Irrational.

The Voice came back several weeks earlier than usual for its spring cycle and, by recent Voice standards, got off to a relatively smashing start. NBC went with a second new drama for the second Voice cycle, but The Hunting Party never lived up to even the modest standard set by Brilliant Minds.

Though it remained strong into the early spring, The Voice completely fell apart down the stretch, giving up a significant chunk of its impressive early season gains. The Hunting Party continued to struggle in the early spring but was finished airing before The Voice's worst points, which were mostly spent on reality newbie Yes, Chef!

The Voice Fall: Stopped the bleeding for now. Unlike whatever happened in the spring, this cycle had pretty consistent trends throughout the season. Grade: B.

The Voice Spring: I remembered this show putting up some pretty ugly late spring results and was surprised to see how favorable the trends were for the season. But the first couple months were legitimately robust, perhaps owing to an earlier start at the beginning of February. Maybe the complete meltdown in the last month bodes poorly for the future, but I'm just gonna hand this one another Grade: B and move on.

Brilliant Minds: The fall averages were identical and I gave The Irrational a C last year. I kinda hate to be nicer to this one just because it didn't get as much of a chance to flop in the winter. However, this show was probably holding up a little better than Irrational even by the late fall episodes. Not sure it really earned a second year in this once highly-coveted timeslot, but NBC has done worse many times before. Grade: C+.

The Hunting Party: Season average was inflated almost 10 points by a post-NFL preview. This show only occasionally managed 50% retention, was a clear step behind Brilliant Minds pretty much throughout its run, and probably weaker than season one of The Irrational here as well. And that was after the strong section of The Voice's season. If Found couldn't make it in the Thursday post-SVU slot, I see little reason to believe this will do so, but that's what NBC is going with. Grade: D+.
