The FBI trio returned to the fall for CBS after strike-related delays last year, but none of these shows did particularly better in the fall than they did later in the season.

Once the apples-to-apples comparisons kicked in, generally there were tiny declines for the spin-offs and a little bit bigger declines for the mothership.

FBI: The mothership was at the low end of a very consistent range across the last five years. With its spin-offs gone, FBI will swap over to Monday, letting NCIS return to its historic night alongside its own spin-offs. Grade: B-.

FBI: International: It's maybe a bit generous to say the spin-offs were "steady" since they got to air in the fall this year. Still, there was no compelling ratings reason why this particular year should be the one when CBS blows up the night. But the bottom line is these shows always had room for improvement on a network as deep as CBS, especially International. Grade: B-.

FBI: Most Wanted: See above. As a pretty solid 10/9c performer, Most Wanted was probably the stronger of the two spin-offs, so it's a bit more likely to be missed. Grade: B-.
