The Breakdown: CW Monday in 2024-25 (Superman and Lois, All American)

It's time for a journey through the CW Monday schedule in 2024-25...

The last CW superhero drama of its generation signed off with its last ten episodes in the fall, never managing to crack a 0.10. It briefly led into docu-drama The Wranglers, which never did better than a 0.03.

All American returned to a fully regular season schedule, but it was no help as the show suffered a second straight massive decline, for the first time falling well below its ratings from the first season.

But at least it didn't get any worse in the spring...?

Superman and Lois: Coming back after over a year off on a network that has completely abandoned your genre of programming and only dropping 20% seems... not that bad, I guess? Even if 0.06 vs. 0.05 is pretty insignificant, it was still the first time in four years that All American wasn't the network's top scripted series. But it was only a few points better than the 9-1-1: Lone Star decline from the last post so I don't want to be too generous. Grade: C.

All American: The 30%+ decline has come for many a teen drama, from The OC to Glee to Riverdale, and All American held out longer than those shows. I sort of wanted to be kinder, as with Superman, because of the nature of what the network has become. But it's just an ugly decline when you consider it actually aired two months earlier this year, and last year's average was brought down at least a tick by the summer ratings. It will get one last hurrah next season. Grade: D.

The names in this last table link to the shows' War of 18-49 pages. Links with an asterisk(*) have been updated with the new info. Updates to younger shows will come later in the summer.
