War of 18-49 Update, The Voice (Fall 2015)

Let's take a look at the fall 2015 season (the ninth overall) of The Voice on NBC.

Timeslot Lo Avg Hi y2y A18-49+ Label y2y Results
Monday 8:002.6 3.123.5 -7%206*megahit +4%* detail
Tuesday 8:002.1 2.803.7 -9%185*big hit +1%*

*- For this winter's War of 18-49 updates, the A18-49+ is based on a projected league average, calculated by applying the league average's current year-to-year trend (thru 1/3/16) to the final 2014-15 average. This should help make these numbers compare more fairly with fall seasons past.

Rating the Ratings: NBC's signature music franchise had one of its best year-to-year trends ever this fall, growing in Plus on both nights. Depending on where the final league average ends up, the Monday average just might pass fall 2012 and become the second-biggest Voice season ever in Plus. The positive trends were largely back-loaded; like the summer season of America's Got Talent, the show didn't do anything that special in the audition phase (it was actually down in Plus for the first six Mondays) but simply held much closer than usual to those audition numbers in the later stages of the season. I might have actually considered A- here but the finale's 2.9 was a tad underwhelming. Grade: B+.

Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for The Voice.
