First Two Weeks, Family Tools

WEEK ONE
The last significantly in-season newbie of the season was ABC's Family Tools, which began its run after The Middle (2.0) with 5.79 million viewers and a 1.5 demo on May 1. If this were several weeks into the run, I guess it wouldn't be absolutely awful; in fact, it was the same number as renewed The Neighbors' finale. But doing that for a series premiere is pretty bad and left no cushion for a drop. (Of course that assumes it had any real chance to begin with.)

WEEK TWO
The drop came: 20% to a 1.2 demo. The Middle was down as well to a 1.8, but this was clearly an unacceptable number out of Family Tools.

PROGNOSIS
It's already been axed. Pretty sure I haven't given any indication that I thought this ever had any remote chance at getting a second season, but if you don't want to believe me, more power to you! I would've predicted a Cancel! I didn't even think it was a given that it'd air its third episode last night.

"First Two Weeks" is my look at... the first two weeks of a new scripted broadcast show's ratings. I also line up all of the premiere and week two drop numbers together.
