The Question, Wednesday 5/1/13: Will Family Tools Fix the 8:30 Timeslot?

The last scripted newbie to air significantly in the 2012-13 regular season also may be one of the least; ABC's new Family Tools has already seen lead J.K. Simmons join another pilot, and it's up against a gauntlet of competition that includes a special recap-ish The Voice. It's an OK fit, and I have seen a few more promos than expected, but I'm still not optimistic. I will say it premieres tonight near the low end of what The Neighbors did in the hour (and drops from there).

Over/Under: 1.45.

Under. It has the stench of death around it. And Kyle Bornheimer...

This is difficult. 1.45 seems low for a comedy premiere on the ABC lineup, but premiering this late in the season is not good. Dilemma, dilemma. I'll go with OVER, but just barely.

How To Live outperformed my expectations at first and sandwiched where it is, I'll take the over.

I'll go with over at 1.6.

Over, at a 1.6

Under at 1.4, if only because I can see The Middle going as low as 1.7.

Over. "Outlook Good"

Just saw it. Liked it. I will revise up to 1.8, still over. It sucks that ABC never gave this a chance. Just unforgivably stupid scheduling. Even Sub/Tools/Modern (R)/How to Live would have made more sense.
