The Breakdown: NBC Friday in 2015-16 (Grimm, Undateable, Truth Be Told, Dateline)

It's time for a journey through the NBC Friday schedule in 2015-16...

47 (-42%)

NBC's pity comedy hour had relatively pitiful ratings, including no interest at all in Truth Be Told at 8:30. That was of no help to Grimm, which was down double digits in Plus for most of its 9/8c comparisons this season.

After being used in some last-resort spackle situations last year, Nick Cannon's Caught on Camera finally got a regularly-scheduled run, where it was low-rated but probably cost-effective. Dateline did relatively great in the winter.

Grimm didn't have to move to 8/7c this time around, and the Plus gap narrowed to almost even.

Undateable: I would still maintain that 0.8ish on Friday was a better showing than what we saw from The Carmichael Show and Crowded on Sunday. But it's still not high enough to argue that it really got the shaft. Though it came from a great Tuesday timeslot, this was still not a good drop in a Friday move. Grade: D+.

Caught on Camera: Not even sure where to begin grading this considering season one was a bunch of random Friday holiday and Saturday airings. Somehow it got onto the fall schedule in 2016, so I'll give it a grade next year, I guess!

Truth Be Told: People were not talking.

Grimm: It seemed to get a bit stronger over the course of the season, but the Plus steadiness in the spring is still deceptive since it was at 8:00 post-DST last year. The declines from the fall and winter are probably more telling. Grade: C.

Dateline Fri: Hmm. It was a lot weaker in the fall, a lot stronger in the winter, and close to even in the spring. Grade: B.
