WHAT MATTERS:- ABC's first two game shows (0.8/0.6) were even while To Tell the Truth (0.6) had a small rebound. But Big Brother (1.1) lost some of the steam it picked up last week, and a double-dip of What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage actually produced a 0.1 in its special 8:30 episode.
- NBC was the one with a national preseason game this week (1.4/1.5/1.1), and it looks to have done similar to or a bit better than last week's Fox game.

- CBS' Big Brother (1.3) and the 9/8c edition of Instinct (0.5) are both eyeing season highs, though CBS numbers might be slightly affected by a small late afternoon NFL overrun. Fox won the evening with a national preseason NFL game (1.2/1.2/1.0).

- Back from a week off, ABC's The $100,000 Pyramid (0.7) inched down leading out of a repeat of Celebrity Family Feud (0.7), while CBS' Big Brother (1.2) is eyeing a Sunday season high at 8/7c and led into a double dose of Instinct (0.4/0.3).
- In the specials world, two hours of gymnastics coverage on NBC (0.5/0.6) handily outrated an invisible Teen Choice Awards on Fox (0.2/0.3).

- Also on the uptick was Fox's What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage (0.3), thanks in large part to stronger repeat lead-ins from the cartoons (0.4/0.4/0.5). CBS' Big Brother (1.0) and Instinct (0.3) were even.

WHAT MATTERS:- Finally airing all originals for consecutive weeks, ABC got some game show improvement as Celebrity Family Feud (0.9) and The $100,000 Pyramid (0.8) both grew, while To Tell the Truth (0.7) was even.
- There was no change for week two of CBS' Big Brother (1.0) / Instinct (0.3) / The Good Fight (0.2), nor for the second episode of What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage (0.2) on Fox.

WHAT MATTERS:- The Sunday premiere of Big Brother (1.0) was down two tenths from last year's Sunday opener, in line with the y2y declines for the first two nights of the season. It led into a little-watched return for sophomore drama Instinct (0.3), dipping below even its worst summer ratings from last year. And episode five of The Good Fight's run on the main network dipped to its first 0.2.
- ABC had all three of its game shows for the first time since their premiere night three weeks ago. While Celebrity Family Feud (0.8) was down two tenths from that night, it did help The $100,000 Pyramid (0.7) and To Tell the Truth (0.7) inch up from two weeks ago when they aired after a Trump interview. (They were down two tenths and one tenth, respectively, from their premiere ratings.)
- And Fox couldn't spark any interest in its aftershow parody What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage (0.3), which was a notch below the cartoon repeats earlier in the night (0.4/0.4/0.4).

WHAT MATTERS:- ABC's game shows went into repeat mode (0.8/0.7/0.6), so CBS pretty much had the stage to itself with the Sunday premiere of Big Brother (1.2). Like the Wednesday (1.5) and Thursday (1.4) premieres, it was down two tenths year-to-year (or a bit more than a league average decline). Big Bro was absolutely no help to incompatible lead-out Instinct (0.4), which was actually down week-to-week despite a much larger lead-in.
- The only other original on broadcast, NBC's Shades of Blue (0.5), matched last week.

WHAT MATTERS:
- It was back to earth for ABC's Sunday Fun & Games as Celebrity Family Feud (1.1) plummeted by a massive seven tenths vs. last week's Kardashian-fueled premiere. The show was up 20% year-to-year last week but actually down about the same amount vs. last year's week 2.
- Later in the night, The $100,000 Pyramid (0.9) also took a sizable fall (though it matched week two of last year which aired at 10/9c), while To Tell the Truth (0.8) suddenly looked a lot more respectable as it matched last week's premiere.
- On NBC, Shades of Blue (0.6) returned for its third and final season at 10/9c, coming in below the low point of last season (which also aired on Sunday at 10/9c but during the spring). It led out of an America's Got Talent encore (0.5/0.8).

WHAT MATTERS:- It was another mostly unchecked night for the NBA Finals (4.8/5.8/5.1) on ABC. These prelims are tracking close to 10% behind the 5.2/6.3/5.6 preliminary hourlies for Game 2 of last season (which later adjusted up to 7.1).
- CBS' Instinct (0.5) was the only entertainment original on broadcast and bounced back a touch from its Memorial Weekend lows, but NBC was the best of the counter-programming with movie Jurassic World (0.7/1.0/1.1) as a sequel hits theaters in about three weeks. Fox began encores of the Nat Geo series One Strange Rock (0.2) at 7/6c.

WHAT MATTERS:- Only a bit of the Disney bounce wore off for American Idol (1.7/1.6), which was down just a tenth from last week's prelims in each hour. If it can actually pull off an adjustment to 1.8, that would be the show's best rating other than Disney Night since week two. America's Funniest Home Videos (1.1) and Deception (0.7) were also down a tenth.
- Little Big Shots left the NBC schedule, saving its remaining episodes for a summer run, and an extra original of Genius Junior (0.5) did much worse than even the diminished LBS. The 9/8c Genius (0.6) and Timeless (0.5) were not really any worse than usual.
- On its season/series finale night, The Last Man on Earth tried to make one last case, holding at 0.7 despite a drop from Family Guy (0.9) and actually pulling into a tie with Brooklyn Nine-Nine (0.7), which was down two tenths at 8:30. CBS got upticks from Instinct (0.7) and NCIS: Los Angeles (0.8), but Madam Secretary (0.5) was down.

WHAT MATTERS:- Disney Night came to American Idol as the show went live in all time zones. It got a major week-to-week bounce even in the preliminary ratings (1.8/1.7), and I'm assuming it would be subject to more upward adjustment than usual given the new arrangement? Stay tuned. Also on the upswing were its surrounding programs, America's Funniest Home Videos (1.2) and Deception (0.8), by two tenths apiece if they manage to hold in finals.
- Against a bigger ABC, the CBS dramas (0.6/0.7/0.6) and NBC reality (0.8/0.6) stayed really low, though NBC's Timeless (0.6) did get a useful uptick at 10/9c. Fox had a better night, as Bob's Burgers (0.8) and The Simpsons (0.9) were even while Brooklyn Nine-Nine (0.9), Family Guy (1.0) and The Last Man on Earth (0.7) all went up.
WHAT MATTERS:- All the regular broadcast lineups were back in place on Sunday, which helped American Idol (1.5) to rebound by multiple tenths. But that was no help to its lead-out Deception, which tanked to 0.6 for the first time as it prepares for a special original following a Roseanne repeat marathon on Tuesday.
- The CBS dramas were back, and roughly in line with three weeks ago when they didn't have help from The Masters. That meant a return to 0.6 for Instinct and a small drop for NCIS: Los Angeles (0.8), while Madam Secretary matched last week's 0.6.
- On Fox, Family Guy (0.9) returned but was unable to boost The Last Man on Earth (0.6), while Bob's Burgers (0.8) and The Simpsons (0.9) gave back last week's upticks. All things NBC matched last week (0.6/0.8/0.6/0.5)
