After a hit-level start (135/132), the Tom Hanks-voiced nature documentary The Americas hovered around the league average for the rest of its run, becoming one of NBC's stronger non-football Sunday options in the Plus era. But NBC's hopes that streaming heat for Suits would translate to a spin-off on broadcast were dashed pretty quickly; Suits LA started narrowly above flop territory (76) and dropped well into it from week two onward, typically retaining barely 50% of The Americas. And fellow newbie Grosse Pointe Garden Society went even lower at 10/9c.

Grosse Pointe got shipped off to Friday early in the spring, and Dateline narrowly improved the 10/9c hour. Meanwhile, things got truly ugly for Suits LA immediately after The Americas was gone, falling to new lows 0.14 and 0.10 (32 Plus!) in the first two weeks.

Suits LA: Maybe the linear appeal of Suits was overestimated, as this show wasn't even sampled that well. But there's no universe in which it should've been this bad. Once The Americas was gone this show became a debacle on par with Grosse Pointe and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, which has to go down as the biggest disappointment of the season. Grade: F.
