It's time for a journey through the Fox Thursday schedule in 2024-25...

Facing the return of scripted programming on all three competitors, Hell's Kitchen took a surprisingly sharp year-to-year dive. Crime Scene Kitchen was a dud even by the very low standards of this hour at 9/8c, rating below everything Fox aired here last year as well as later this year.

Hell's Kitchen improved in the winter as usual, but still significantly trailed the year-ago season which was usually above league average in winter 2024. Comedy Animal Control returned for a third straight sub-60 Plus season, while its newbie lead-out Going Dutch had unexciting retention of the small lead-in.

Next Level Chef returned at the end of the winter window and had some huge drops in that period, but held up much better in the spring. Throwing out its football preview last year, this season was -5% vs. the Thursday episodes in 2024 (86). Farmer Wants a Wife was also on the year-to-year downside thanks to last year's late-winter results, but up a touch in spring episodes only.

Hell's Kitchen: Maybe it can hang some blame on the scripted competition, but it was also a good bit weaker than when it faced full competition two years ago. It looks like it was just a dud of a season. It even got outrated by Kitchen Nightmares, something that would've been unheard of back when they aired concurrently in the late 2000s-early 2010s. Grade: C.
Animal Control: I mean, it is a 54 Plus on a big four network, but it definitely looked better this year after the Ramsay shows than last year after Masked Singer, where it was usually south of 50% retention. If they could renew it then, why not again this year? Grade: C+.
Going Dutch: Again, if they could renew Welcome to Flatch, why not? Considering the lead-in it was given, the retention was OK, I guess. Nowhere near a Flatch-level eyesore. Grade: C.
