Spotted Ratings, Wednesday 6/13/12

WHAT MATTERS:
  • ABC moved Duets to Wednesday for a couple weeks because the NBA Finals are taking up residence on Thursday, and the show only continued its descent from its weak Thursday numbers.
  • TNT got a pretty good start from their continuation of Dallas (6.86m, 1.5 A18-49), but it was not the record-breaker among TNT premieres that many (myself included) expected. Still, it's a success if it drops by a reasonable amount from here.

To save you some time, here's War of 18-49 Update, Dallas (2011-12) post in advance :)

Premiere brought in good viewership: almost 7 million (6.863) and nice 1.5 A18-49 ratings. Considering big promo, high expectations and good Wednesday slot with almost no competition (broadcast or cable) ... certainly not a hit on network like TNT ... but even less a flop.
Predictably, from there on series lost many of its younger viewers, soon being around 1.0 and stabilizing at 0.8 to 0.9 range (America's Got Talent mid-July return back to Tuesday/Wednesday airing surely didn't help). Not so with older viewers, show kept around 5 million viewers Live+SD through season. Season finale spiked to a 1.25 and over 6 million total viewers, so the show averages are 1.1 A18-49 ratings and 5.75 million total viewers.
No brain renewal ... but taking in account big expectations and big money invested in promotion: Grade C.
