FINALS UPDATE: Black-ish (0.6),
Big Sky (0.7) and
Young Rock (1.0) adjusted up.
WHAT MATTERS:- NBC got a solid start from its new comedy hour of Young Rock (0.9) and Kenan (0.8), boosting This Is Us (1.1) to its highest rating in 2021, and Nurses remained at 0.3.
- ABC was even across the board vs. last week's finals, meaning yet another 0.6 at 10/9c from Big Sky. With CBS in repeats, Fox's The Resident inched up to 0.6 at 8/7c.
FINALS UPDATE: Black-ish (0.5) adjusted up.
WHAT MATTERS:- This Is Us (1.0) finally returned to originals and preliminarily matched its last rating from four weeks ago. It was no help to lead-in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (0.4) and lead-out Nurses (0.3), which were both even with last week.
- The CBS dramas (0.9/0.8/0.6) matched their last prelims from two weeks ago, and the Fox dramas (0.5/0.4) were steady with their prelims from last week. (Most of those shows went on to adjust up in finals.) On ABC, Black-ish (0.4) dropped to join its companion Mixed-ish at 0.4, but Big Sky admirably pulled off another 0.6 at 10/9c.
FINALS UPDATE: To Tell the Truth (0.6),
Mixed-ish (0.5),
FBI: Most Wanted (R)
(0.4),
The Resident (0.6) and
Prodigal Son (0.5) adjusted up.
WHAT MATTERS:- ABC's revamped Tuesday couldn't hold onto its premiere ratings in the first two hours, with To Tell the Truth (0.5), Black-ish (0.5) and especially Mixed-ish (0.4) all down from last week's prelims. But Big Sky pulled off another 0.6 at 10/9c, looking all the more promising by comparison and actually winning the night outright in prelims.
- Despite CBS in repeats (0.4/0.4/0.3), 8/7c dramas The Resident (0.5) and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (0.4) were down a notch from last week. Airing after yet another This Is Us repeat (0.3), Nurses inched back up to 0.3, and Prodigal Son posted another 0.4.
FINALS UPDATE: NCIS (0.8) and
FBI: Most Wanted (0.6) adjusted up.
WHAT MATTERS:- NCIS (0.8/0.7) returned to CBS with a double-episode winter premiere, with the 8/7c hour ticking up slightly from its last episode in December. FBI: Most Wanted (0.5) returned steady at 10/9c.
- Fox had week two of The Resident (0.5) and Prodigal Son (0.5), with the former taking a somewhat steep decline vs. last week's 0.65 premiere. With This Is Us in repeats due to COVID-related production delays, its surrounding programs Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (0.4) and Nurses (0.2) were both on the downswing.
FINALS UPDATE: Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (0.5) and
This Is Us (1.0) adjusted up.
WHAT MATTERS:- Fox dramas The Resident (0.6) and Prodigal Son (0.5) returned from roughly nine-month hiatuses with Resident tying its low from last season, while Prodigal Son is eyeing a new series low (though it had much better lead-ins throughout season one).
- On NBC, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (0.4) and This Is Us (0.9) each dropped a tenth from their winter premieres, leaving TIU down by three tenths from what it was doing just in November and down roughly 40% from what it was doing at this time last year.
- And the CW, filling six more Tuesdays before it finally gets The Flash back, brought back Two Sentence Horror Stories (0.1/0.1) and premiered Canadian import Trickster (0.1).
