War of 18-49 Update, Kitchen Nightmares (2013-14)

Let's take a look at the 2013-14 season (the seventh overall) of Kitchen Nightmares on Fox.

Rating the Ratings: Gordon Ramsay announced in June that one of his shows is finally ending. Kitchen Nightmares' seven-season utility player run unceremoniously wrapped up with Fox burning through nine episodes in five weeks (plus another random one coming up on September 12, which I'll eventually add to this average). Considering it was thrown away in the lowest-viewed part of the regular season, a league average-ish drop actually seems pretty good. After its significant drop in season six, the end appeared to be near, but it's far from a given that Fox will have a full season of Friday players capable of these ratings going forward (as Rake, Enlisted and Raising Hope can attest). Grade: B.

Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for Kitchen Nightmares.

FOX really didn't need the show. Masterchef Junior was filling in the Friday role and Hotel Hell was filling in the self contained Ramsey fixes failed establishments show.

And they've decided to order about a zillion limited series so that when one fails, another can be plugged in to fail in its place!
