In the fall, NBC Thursday produced double digit growth thanks to the mothership Law & Order taking over in the 8/7c hour and demolishing last year's The Blacklist. It was an impressive rebound from some shaky results the previous spring. Meanwhile, SVU and Organized Crime kept chugging along.

All three of the L&O's had big winter bounces, with the mothership actually managing to beat its big return from winter 2022 and SVU and Organized Crime leaping to double digit growth.

But it all went in reverse with a pretty rough spring for all three shows. The mothership had the smallest decline, in part because it had such a bad spring last year as well, while SVU and OC were down roughly 10%.

Law and Order: If you look at the sub-sections, there's probably a strong case the show was basically even and only grew because it got to air in the fall. But considering how fast it seemed to be falling at the end of last season, I would still consider it the biggest winner of the bunch relative to expectations. Being up year-to-year in the winter was really not something I'd have expected before the season. Grade: B+.

Law and Order: SVU: As I mentioned on the Wednesday post, there was a very weird spring collapse for all things Dick Wolf, and the L&O night was not immune. The difference is that unlike with the FBI and Chicago nights, the L&O trio did extremely well in the winter, so their season-long numbers still look rock-solid. I have to give it a bit of a penalty for the bad spring, but worth noting it's not far at all from series high territory (136 all the way back in 2004-05). Grade: B.

Law and Order: Organized Crime: Basically the same situation as SVU but a touch worse. Grade: B-.
