WHAT MATTERS:
- After a big penultimate week spike, Westworld followed it up on finale night by only staying flat week-to-week at a 1.02 demo. (However, it did set new highs in both total viewers and the 18-34 demos.) It still goes down as one of the cable elite, but a long wait for season two begins.
- It was another solid Sunday elsewhere in the cable realm. The Walking Dead (4.95) had a tiny rally from last week, while Shameless (0.62) had a second straight new season high and TNT's The Librarians (0.49) continued to hold up quite well on a year-to-year basis.
- Less healthy was The Royals (0.26), the E! drama which returned for season three on Sunday and dropped 37% from the year-ago premiere. But it can pin some of the blame on its lead-in situation; after leading out of a low-1 Kardashian show last year, it had just a 0.28 lead-in from unscripted Mariah's World this year.
