FINALS UPDATE: NBA Finals (4.8, +0.9), The Big Bang Theory (R) (0.9) and Paradise Hotel (0.5) adjusted up while Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night (0.9, -1.2), NBA Countdown (1.4, -0.8) and In the Dark (0.1) adjusted down.

WHAT MATTERS:

• Numbers to come. ABC had the first game of the NBA Finals.

FINALS UPDATE: No adjustments.

WHAT MATTERS:

• The summer began with Elementary (0.5) returning to the timeslot it occupied in its first several seasons. It was down a tenth from its April premiere a year ago.

• In a tight race for the nightly lead were ABC's two-hour Farrah Fawcett special (0.7) and the CBS comedies (0.6/0.7/0.6/0.6), which included a Life in Pieces original at 9:30. Bringing up the rear were Fox's Paradise Hotel (0.4) and NBC's two-hour Red Nose Day charity event (0.4/0.3) and Hollywood Game Night (0.4). On the CW (0.2/0.2), the late spring pairing of iZombie and In the Dark continued.

Spotted Ratings, Wednesday 5/15/19

FINALS UPDATE: Chicago Fire (1.1) adjusted up.

WHAT MATTERS:

• CBS aired its spring Survivor finale (1.6/1.5 from 8:00-10:00 and 1.3 in the 10:00 half-hour) and reunion (0.9 at 10:30) a week before the end of the season this year, and the finale looks to be up year-to-year (the year-ago spring finale had a 1.4 with a 0.9 reunion).

• With a lot less drama competition, NBC was up at 8/7c with Chicago Med (1.1), even at 9/8c with Chicago Fire (1.0) and up at 10/9c with Chicago PD (1.0).

• Fox had a MasterChef special (0.5) and still lower embarrassment from Paradise Hotel (0.3), while ABC replaced its wrapped comedies with movie Toy Story 2 (0.6), plus Whiskey Cavalier (0.4). The CW's Riverdale stayed at 0.3 for its season finale, but Jane the Virgin (0.2) gave back last week's uptick.

Spotted Ratings, Monday 5/13/19

FINALS UPDATE: The Voice (1.1) adjusted down.

WHAT MATTERS:

• The Bachelorette (1.3) arrived a couple weeks earlier than last year, going a tenth below its Memorial weekend premiere in 2018. The Fix (0.4) preliminarily inched up from last week's low.
  

• A special 8/7c finale (previewing its fall 2019 timeslot) went great for 9-1-1 (1.3), as the show had its highest rating in five episodes. But it was no help to Fox's Paradise Hotel resurrection (0.4), which went even lower than its Thursday premiere.

• Free from 9-1-1 competition, CBS' The Code (0.6) and its lead-out Bull (0.7) were both up a notch. NBC was even to narrowly up with The Voice (1.1/1.2) and The Enemy Within (0.6), and the CW's superhero dramas (0.3/0.2) were steady.
