FINALS UPDATE: Movie: When We Rise p4 (0.4) adjusted down.
WHAT MATTERS:- With CBS in repeats, ABC's Shark Tank (1.4) was the only non-fractional program on broadcast, and matched last week's season high in a special 8/7c airing. It led into the last two hours of When We Rise (0.5/0.4), which roughly matched the Thursday telecast.
- It was finale night for Emerald City (0.7), which was up a tenth after a string of 0.6's through the second half of its order. It was sandwiched by steady Grimm (0.8) and Dateline (0.8).
- The CBS dramas (0.7/0.8/0.7) as well as Fox's Rosewood (0.4) were all in repeats, and that helped usher an original of Sleepy Hollow to a new low 0.4.
- A week before its series finale, The Vampire Diaries stayed at 0.4, leading into another 0.2 from Reign.
FINALS UPDATE: Last Man Standing (1.2) and
Shark Tank (1.4) adjusted up.
WHAT MATTERS:- ABC's Shark Tank (1.3) and Shark Tank-themed 20/20 (1.0) both upticked as the show passed the much-promoted $100 million in deals milestone. Earlier in the night, Last Man Standing (1.1) will hope for a second straight upward finals adjustment to match last week, while Dr. Ken (0.9) bounced back from last week's low.
- We've seen the best and the worst of MacGyver in the last two weeks, and this week (1.1) it was back to the middle of that range. Hawaii Five-0 (1.1) inched down and Blue Bloods (0.8) was a repeat.
- The other three networks were steady across the board: NBC with Grimm (0.8) / Emerald City (0.6) / Dateline (0.8), Fox with Rosewood (0.6) and Sleepy Hollow (0.5), and the CW with The Vampire Diaries (0.4) and Reign (0.2).
FINALS UPDATE: Last Man Standing (1.2),
Shark Tank (1.2) and
Hawaii Five-0 (1.2) adjusted up.
WHAT MATTERS:- A week after some of their strongest results of the season, the CBS dramas swung all the way back in the other direction, starting with MacGyver (0.9) dropping into the zeroes for just the second time. Hawaii Five-0 (1.1) and Blue Bloods (1.1) were also below average.
- It was also a down night for ABC, as Last Man Standing (1.1), Dr. Ken (0.8) and Shark Tank (1.1) all fell to numbers they hadn't seen since the fall. (Though unlike the CBS shows, they saw these numbers pretty frequently during the fall.) At 10/9c, 20/20 (0.9) held off a Making a Murderer-themed Dateline (0.8) for second place.
- The other networks trailed as usual but were steadier. NBC's Grimm (0.8) bounced back from last week's low and pulled back ahead of Rosewood (0.6) on Fox. At 9/8c, Emerald City (0.6) and Sleepy Hollow (0.5) were both even again. And the CW matched last week with The Vampire Diaries (0.4) and Reign (0.2).
WHAT MATTERS:- It was a big night for the CBS dramas, with MacGyver (1.2) and Hawaii Five-0 (1.3) each up two tenths to tie their highest ratings since the new year. Blue Bloods (1.2) was up a tenth at 10/9c.
- The CW brought back Reign (0.2) for its final season, where it may well be poised to peel off a long run of 0.2's just like previous occupant Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It led out of The Vampire Diaries, which preliminarily ticked up to 0.4.
- ABC's comedies sat out in favor of an hour of Peanuts Valentine's specials (1.0), leading into a steady Shark Tank (1.3) and narrowly down 20/20 (0.9).
- The other two networks stayed low, though Rosewood (0.7) picked up a tenth to tie a downticking Grimm (0.7) for third at 8/7c. Emerald City (0.6) and Sleepy Hollow (0.5) stayed even at 9/8c.
FINALS UPDATE: Dateline (0.8) adjusted up while
Blue Bloods (1.1) and
The Vampire Diaries (0.3) adjusted down.
WHAT MATTERS:- The CBS drama trio was back together for the first time in three weeks, with MacGyver (1.0), Hawaii Five-0 (1.1) and Blue Bloods (1.2) all down a tenth from that night. (However, Five-0 was up a tenth from two weeks ago, when it had a low-rated Trump special as a lead-in.)
- On ABC, another 1.2 from Last Man Standing led into slightly down Dr. Ken (0.9) and Shark Tank (1.3) and an upswinging 20/20 (1.0).
- NBC's Grimm (0.8) and Emerald City (0.6) were both steady, but Dateline (0.7) dropped well behind 20/20.
- Fox's Sleepy Hollow was back down to 0.5 after last week's uptick, leading out of a third straight 0.6 from Rosewood.
- And The Vampire Diaries was up to 0.4, while Crazy Ex-Girlfriend wrapped up season two and made it 13 in a row at 0.2.
FINALS UPDATE: Shark Tank (1.4) and
Dateline (1.0) adjusted up while
20/20 (0.8) adjusted down.
WHAT MATTERS:- After a thrilling run through most of January, Last Man Standing (1.2) came back to earth a bit this week, though its lead-out Dr. Ken (1.0) stayed at a fairly high-end rating. LMS dropped behind Shark Tank (1.3) for nightly leadership, while 20/20 was even at 0.9 to tie Dateline.
- The CBS dramas went into repeats (0.8/0.8/0.8) this week, but the competing dramas did not take much advantage. On NBC, a third straight 0.8 from Grimm led into yet another drop from increasingly ugly Emerald City (0.6). Fox's Sleepy Hollow (0.6) was one of the few uptickers, but Rosewood was stuck at 0.6. And the CW was also steady and low with The Vampire Diaries (0.3) and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (0.2).
FINALS UPDATE: Last Man Standing (1.4) adjusted up.
WHAT MATTERS:- Last Man Standing (1.3) emerged as the outright #1 program on Friday, and its three biggest ratings of the season have all come in January. Its lead-out Dr. Ken (1.0) was up a tenth at 8:30, while Shark Tank (1.0) went into repeats and an inauguration-themed 20/20 (0.9) was down at 10/9c.
- CBS put the value of MacGyver on display by replacing it at 8/7c with a low-rated Trump special (0.7). That new lead-in brought Hawaii Five-0 (1.0) down to one of its lowest ratings of the season. Blue Bloods (1.2) inched down at 10/9c.
- On NBC, Emerald City (0.7) lost another precious tenth at 9/8c, and was outrated both by lead-in Grimm (0.8) and lead-out Dateline (0.8).
- Fox's Rosewood (0.6) and Sleepy Hollow (0.5) also lost a tenth, as did The Vampire Diaries (0.3) on the CW. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend made it 11 in a row at 0.2 this season.

FINALS UPDATE: Hawaii Five-0 (1.2) adjusted up.
WHAT MATTERS:- Things didn't get any more promising in week two for Emerald City (0.8), which took a two-tenth drop from an already underwhelming premiere. It matched its lead-in from Grimm (0.8) at 8/7c. And this new lineup seemingly did no favors for Dateline (0.7), which hit a season low in the 10:00 hour.
- This Friday was not quite as explosive as last week for the ABC ratings, but Last Man Standing (1.3) was still able to hang on to its outright second-best rating of the season. Its lead-out Dr. Ken (0.9) was also down two tenths. Shark Tank (1.3) was down 0.1 and 20/20 down 0.2.
- CBS also came back to earth a bit with MacGyver (1.1) and Hawaii Five-0 (1.1), but Blue Bloods (1.3) remained strong at 10/9c.
- On Fox, Rosewood (0.7) tried to keep itself in the picture by upticking in its second Friday outing, while Sleepy Hollow (0.6) held on to last week's premiere rating.
- And though the CW's superhero hibernation continues into another week, the Friday lineup was intact again with The Vampire Diaries (0.4) returning to join Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (0.2).
