FINALS UPDATE: The Big Bang Theory (R) (0.5) adjusted up while Mom (R) (0.4) and Dateline (R) (0.4) adjusted down.

WHAT MATTERS:

• There were Labor Day drops for ABC's Bachelor in Paradise (1.1/1.0) and Grand Hotel (0.4) as well as NBC's American Ninja Warrior (0.8) and Dateline (0.5). That left So You Think You Can Dance (0.4) as the only steady original.

FINALS UPDATE: Grand Hotel (0.4) and The Late Late Show (R) (0.3) adjusted down.

WHAT MATTERS:

• ABC's Bachelor in Paradise (1.4/1.3) began the week on an up note, tying or exceeding its season high. It came at the expense of NBC, which was down with American Ninja Warrior (0.8) and Dateline (0.5)

• On the CW, I Ship It (0.1) became the latest CW Seed comedy to get a tryout on the main network.

FINALS UPDATE: Bachelor in Paradise (1.2) adjusted up while Grand Hotel (0.4), Bulletproof (R) (0.1) and Whose Line Is It Anyway? (R) (0.2) adjusted down.

WHAT MATTERS:

• ABC's Bachelor in Paradise (1.1) was down two tenths from last week's Monday premiere, and some of the opposition benefited; NBC was up with American Ninja Warrior (0.9) and Dateline (0.7), as was Fox's So You Think You Can Dance (0.5).

WHAT MATTERS:

• A great summer for the Bachelor universe continued as Bachelor in Paradise (1.3) returned to ABC. Last season premiered on a Tuesday with a 1.1 and then hit a 1.3 for its first Monday episode the next week. In its first look with a lower lead-in, Grand Hotel fell back to 0.5 at 10/9c.

• Fox was on the uptick with Beat Shazam (0.6) and So You Think You Can Dance (0.5), while the originals on NBC (0.8/0.9/0.6) and CW (0.2/0.2) along with CBS' Love Island (0.4) were even-ish.

FINALS UPDATE: Grand Hotel (0.6) adjusted down.

WHAT MATTERS:

• The season finale of The Bachelorette (1.9) hit a new season high and managed to top last year's 1.8 finale (which occurred a week later last year). Lead-out Grand Hotel (0.7) would tie its season high if it can hold in finals.

• Most of the competing originals were even vs. last Monday, the lone exception being Fox's Beat Shazam which fell to its first ever 0.5.

WHAT MATTERS:

• The Bachelorette (1.7) held onto last week's season high, and also set a new one in adults 18-34 (1.7). But its lead-out Grand Hotel (0.5) couldn't match last week. Opposite Bachelorette, Fox's So You Think You Can Dance (0.4) and CBS' Love Island (0.4) both dropped.

FINALS UPDATE: The Bachelorette (1.7) adjusted up while Whose Line Is It Anyway? (0.2) adjusted down.

WHAT MATTERS:

• ABC's The Bachelorette (1.6/1.7) grew to a new season high, and helped usher CBS' Love Island down to 0.5 for the first time on a weeknight. The Love Island lead-in did no favors to The Code, which fell to its first 0.3.

• Bachelorette lead-out Grand Hotel (0.6) preliminarily eked out an uptick of its own, while NBC (0.8/0.9/0.7) and Fox (0.6/0.5) were even-ish. At least in the prelims, the CW's original duo (0.3/0.3) was up.

WHAT MATTERS:

• In its return to Monday, The Bachelorette (1.5) bounced back to tie its season high from two weeks ago (and was actually up from the year-ago evening). It also launched new drama Grand Hotel (0.7) at 10/9c. Hotel looked much better than the last drama with a regular post-Bachelorette berth (Still Star-Crossed, which opened with just a 0.5 in 2017) but this was definitely a less promising start than the launch of The Whispers in 2015 (1.5 after a 2.0 B'ette).
  

• NBC's American Ninja Warrior (0.9) moved into its regular Monday home and tied its Wednesday episode from last week. So You Think You Can Dance (0.5) dropped a tick for Fox, while the CW welcomed back summer mainstays Penn and Teller: Fool Us (0.3) and Whose Line Is It Anyway? (0.2).
