WHAT MATTERS:
- We talked about broadcast shows getting hurt by the last-minute NFL playoff game on Sunday, but Showtime is probably hoping that applied to Homeland (0.31) as well. If not, the show was down 45% year-to-year in the same-day ratings, which is probably not what the network was looking for out of the first episode of a three-season renewal.
These numbers are current through Tuesday, January 10.
WHAT MATTERS:
- FX opened 2017 with a strong start for new drama Taboo (0.63), beating every rating that Atlanta did in this Tuesday 10:00 hour during the fall. Unless it pulls a The Bastard Executioner-esque collapse from here, it's looking good.
