It's the other way around, NBC fails to offer mass appealing programs.

The Voice numbers are just OK, after disappointing last week it merely bounced back to expected level. But still it did a huge job by giving Revolution excellent lead-in. NBC is willing to flame out The Voice fast with 2 cycles a year - but they really have no other choice, only other high rated show they have is SNF (no lead-out). Until last night, such a strategy was a mixed bag, but fantastic Revolution ratings makes it fully justified. Though Revolution is bound to go sub-3 by 3rd episode, it could average over 2.5 which would be tremendous success, given NBC standards.

Revolution is creatively every bit of post-apocalyptic cliche that there is. Only fun was guessing what next happens. Sad things being: I guessed it 9 out of 10 times. Bad thing being: authors not aware that wheels must spin much faster with thin material like one they have here - don't allow viewers guess like me. Hell, prevent any kind of thinking about what's happening. For NBC sake I hope younger, lower-mileage audience is not having such Been There, Done That overall feeling as me, NBC surely needs every demo point they can get.Spothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222504847153680060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3149153403168306818.post-18582384889934650072012-09-18T13:06:25.749-04:002012-09-18T13:06:25.749-04:00Wow. It makes sense that when Voice bounced back, Revolution would get a boost. Of course, the first test is Episode One, but what will get it renewed will be its numbers for Episode Ten. If that is above a 2.7, they're in business.

I am amazed at how weak Mob Doctor was. I thought I was a being a bit pessimistic at 2.0. But to me, the real story is Bones. It was pulling low 2s after Daylight Savings started when everything fell, so I was expecting something stronger than 2.3. This is going to be a looooooong season for FOX, unless their comedies really shoot out of the gate.Spothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222504847153680060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3149153403168306818.post-47927410972572427592012-09-18T12:21:32.772-04:002012-09-18T12:21:32.772-04:00I gotta say, I wasn't expecting Revolution to ...I gotta say, I wasn't expecting Revolution to actually break a 4 at 10pm. Kudos to the genre hype machine for another big start. That said, the pilot was kinda meh.

But at least it was better than The Mob Doctor. And with that rating, I think we have our first cancellation of fall 2012.Spothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222504847153680060noreply@blogger.com
