That wouldn't be saving face; it would be admitting defeat. Put three new comedies plus Parks and Rec on Thursday and dump everything else. There's absolutely no point in keeping these loser comedies around.Spothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222504847153680060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3149153403168306818.post-11655344449772388242013-04-05T12:54:17.710-04:002013-04-05T12:54:17.710-04:00According to TVBTN, Hannibal pulled the best ratin...According to TVBTN, Hannibal pulled the best ratings for NBC in this timeslot in the past 12 months. But it's the second-lowest drama series premiere for NBC this season (although we'll see when this is updated with finals if Spot's True2 number for Hannibal will end up outranking Chicago Fire's debut). As for its rank in new drama series, unless I've missed one...

Revolution: 4.1

The Following: 3.2
Elementary: 3.1
Nashville: 2.8
Vegas: 2.5
Last Resort: 2.2
666 Park Avenue: 2.1
Deception: 2.0
Chicago Fire: 1.9
Golden Boy: 1.8
Hannibal: 1.6
Red Widow & The Mob Doctor: 1.5
Zero Hour: 1.4
Made in Jersey: 1.1
Do No Harm: 0.9Spothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222504847153680060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3149153403168306818.post-90309850338598628522013-04-05T12:25:13.149-04:002013-04-05T12:25:13.149-04:00Hannibal's ratings are certainly in line with ...Hannibal's ratings are certainly in line with dramas that have been axed.Spothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222504847153680060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3149153403168306818.post-18617278974034517212013-04-05T12:05:52.509-04:002013-04-05T12:05:52.509-04:00Isn't this roughly in line with what most othe...Isn't this roughly in line with what most other dramas are premiering to this season? Not that that's good for Hannibal, but relatively speaking, it's not particularly bad.

I'm on record as saying the show will be renewed no matter what, but it will be interesting to see if it grows at all by the time its done. It skewed young and it got great reviews, so perhaps a buzz of sorts will spread.

Do you know anything about the special international financing deal, by the way? I've seen hints it wasn't a big financial risk for NBC because of heavy international sales, although even if that's true, I'd guess it's harder to pull off if the show doesn't do well here or anywhere really.Spothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222504847153680060noreply@blogger.com
