7th Heaven on the WB and a successful African-American comedy block on UPN, it has proven a far tougher night for the CW to crack. Its only real period of ratings success was the prime years of
Gossip Girl and
One Tree Hill in the late aughts. Since then, the network has tried keeping the female-skewing tradition going, usually with far less success. Two years of
Supergirl did as well as anything on Monday in CW history, but bad lead-outs held back the nightly averages.
