Let's take a look at the 2013-14 season (the twenty-fifth overall) of The Simpsons on Fox.

Rating the Ratings: Another boring update for a Fox cartoon, as The Simpsons took an almost exactly league-average drop in 2013-14. There were a couple quirks in scheduling this year, as it aired an extremely rare original both in the 7:00 hour (1.2 at 7:30 on March 9, Cosmos premiere night) and at 9/8c (1.8 on November 17, Almost Human premiere night). Both of these deflated the overall average, but the show got a larger boost than usual from its post-NFL playoff episode on 1/5/14. That 4.6 demo was its second-biggest regularly-scheduled episode in eleven years of A18-49+. It all added up to the usual league average-ish drop, though it was trending a bit worse than that in the spring. At this point, the Internet seems to be buzzing much less on Simpsons originals than on the full library of reruns coming to FXX and the FXNOW app. Grade: B-.

Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for The Simpsons.

I assume the best plus was the 20th anniversary episode in 2010?
The Simpsons always has interesting "trends". Like this 6 episode "trend" or 3.1, 3.5, 4.7, 2.2, 1.7, 1.2. Yeah, +13%, +34%, -53%, -23%, -29% was a real "trend"

You already mentioned on Bob's Burgers about the weird trend of FOX's animations but Simpsons is the weirdest one.

NFL boost week in week out and the return to reality in create some crazy fluctuations.

It's just because Spot posted Bob's first. Animation domination shows that leadins matter almost every week
