Rating the Ratings: Another relatively boring Family Guy season of league average-ish decline got a little more interesting when Fox moved Family Guy to 8:30 to make way for Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. This move actually didn't hurt the year-to-year trend; it was at -14% as of the move and finished at -13%. Perhaps this positioned it better to be viewed by men 18-34 before their cable dramas (The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones) began at 9/8c. But I still have a tough time believing it was really a net positive for the show. For all we know, maybe it would've finished the season even better at 9/8c. It's back in the 9/8c anchor role next season, but with a new complication; it'll be surrounded by live-action comedies. Grade: B-.
