WHAT MATTERS:

• The week of Ramsay rolls on as the third Gordon Ramsay series to air this week, MasterChef, posted the third outright season high. Only last season's finale (2.9) has done better in series history.

• The 10:00 hour had coverage of the Republican National Convention on all three broadcasters but Fox News had by far the biggest total viewer average for the RNC (6.88m) and the second biggest 18-49 rating (0.8) and 25-54 audience (1.68 million).

• On cable, Pretty Little Liars (1.3) had yet another big finale, hitting an outright season high.
