Spotted Ratings, Friday 8/24/12: Bottom Model

WHAT MATTERS:

• I never thought I would see the day when America's Next Top Model premiered at a 0.5 demo rating and people would say it's actually not that bad. I didn't really agree, but I guess the idea was that if you just compared it to the 0.5 premiere from the spring, it was somewhat impressive to be flat considering the drop in viewing levels. Of course, that disregards that the spring's 0.5 was itself a complete disaster. And even that spin was out the window when the show dropped in finals to a mere 0.4, marking a second straight Top Model premiere to drop by more than half year-to-year (vs. fall 2011's 0.9). It was lucky to even have this season, as it was renewed before the total bomb of a spring cycle even premiered. If it's not completely dead after this result, I'm not sure what it's going to take.
