Schedule Five-Spot, WE 11/6/11 - Bob's Burgers, American Horror Story, Who's Still Standing?, One Tree Hill, Once Upon a Time

Not included here is the renewal of The X Factor, but I didn't have much to say about it! Here's the Schedule Five-Spot for the week ending November 6, 2011:

Bob's Burgers - Fox has given a full-season order to sophomore animated comedy Bob's Burgers, which had only a 13-episode order originally since it premiered at midseason last year. If you're into tea-leaf reading as I am, I see this as having much less to do with Burgers itself (it's not even airing currently) than with the weak opening ratings from Allen Gregory. News of the back nine came right around the same time Fox would've seen the ratings. Coincidence?!

American Horror Story - FX renewed their new drama American Horror Story for a second season. It's aired just five episodes, but they've been five pretty highly-rated ones, as the show is clearly its network's second strongest show in 18-49 (well ahead of Justified but still behind Sons of Anarchy). The October 26 episode posted a series high 1.7 demo, exceeding the series premiere rating for the first time.

Holiday Season Game Shows - ABC and NBC gave more details on how they'll bridge the gap to their early 2011 Monday reality. ABC has new game show You Deserve It after the performance finale of Dancing with the Stars on November 21 and leaves it in the Monday 9/8c timeslot through December. Meanwhile, NBC's own game show newbie Who's Still Standing? launches as a strip from Dec. 19-22 at 8/7c, then moves to Monday 8/7c through January.

CW Midseason - With all three of its new scripted shows getting a back-nine, there was no real need for a big shakeup on the CW. And they're not making one. Every day of the schedule except Wednesday will remain intact. On Wednesday, the net introduces the final season of One Tree Hill at 8/7c leading into unscripted newbie Remodeled, which presumably will just take up winter real estate till the spring cycle of America's Next Top Model.

ABC Full Seasons - ABC already gave full seasons to Suburgatory and Revenge back in mid-October. Last week, they announced a second round of back nines for Last Man Standing (still doing decently in the Tuesday lead-off slot), Happy Endings (has shown some genuine growth in recent weeks) and Once Upon a Time (seemingly the fall's only real drama hit on any network). Left out: Pan Am (which got five additional scripts) and Man Up!

The Five-Spots are my recaps of what aired, what got renewed/cancelled and what rated well or poorly last week in TV. For more Five-Spots, see the Index.
