War of 18-49 Update, Two and a Half Men (2010-11)

I'm not confident enough at this point to speculate one way or another on future seasons of Two and a Half Men, but I'm pretty sure the show is done with originals for this season. So I'm gonna go ahead and do this update, just because it'll be one less to do during the summer! Let's take a look at the 2010-11 season (the show's eighth overall) of Two and a Half Men on CBS.

2010-11 adults 18-49 low/average/high: 4.2/4.49/4.9

Rating the Ratings: It may be Men's final season, but that's for reasons totally unrelated to ratings; the show still sat near the top of the 18-49 charts in season eight. That said, it was definitely the show's weakest season to date, as it took a noticeable step down from its remarkable consistency of the previous half decade. What stuck out most about this season was the inability to spike up into the stratosphere during the winter months when key competition Dancing with the Stars was off the air. Usually the show and other CBS comedies increase significantly twixt Dancings; Men gained 17% during this period last year, but this year it actually dropped off 4%. That accounts for almost all of the show's 9% year-to-year drop overall. Since this season ended worse than it began, I'll penalize it a bit for that. But despite the beginnings of a downturn this season, we're still a long way from endgame territory from a ratings standpoint. Grade: B-.

Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for Two and a Half Men.
